26. day - 24/08/2007 -

Although some of the sailors are superstitious and they say that setting sails on Friday does not bring much luck, we raised the anchor and aimed the most popular part of French Polynesia, Tahiti from the Society Islands. We expected around 300 miles of sailing (roughly 3 days) with a predicted good wind. Hafskip planned the same day to leave.
We had a fantastic 2 hours sailing in the atoll without waves in a good 15 knots of down wind. So we flew again the two genoas and raised also the mizzen. We had only 1.5-2 knots of counter current at the entrance of the atoll that we reached at around 1 pm. It was easy to sail out with our original 5-6 knots of speed. The pleasant sailing continued at the end of the Channel of Fakarava where we had current with us therefore we gained around 7 knots of speed. We lost Hafskip from our sight here, so the SSB talkings remained in the next days.
After the channel the good wind generated bigger waves although we luckily got them from the back. Our speed remained stable about 5-6 knots. We expect a fast arrival at Tahiti.

27. day - 25/08/2007 -

All day we had good wind although it was a bit squally. At lunch time (Honolulu time) we talked to Hafskip on SSB. They were around 20 miles behind us. Our average speed is still around 6 knots. The boat flies easily since our food and water supplies are down. We can see on the boat that she lifted 5 cms since the ocean crossing. The weight loss eased us surfing on the waves. .

28. day - 26/08/2007 -

Breaking news:
The pictures are uploded from the Pacific crossing to Tuamotu!.

Instead of 3 days sailing we arrived at Tahiti at the end of the second day. The boat was really fast in the 2 days of good wind and we managed to sail around 145 miles every day..
