54. day - 02/12/2006 -

Cartagena is a beautiful city with a big wall around the old city. It was fortified by the Spanish as this town had an important role in the 16th through 18th Century. There are nice cathedrals, churches, plazas and theatres in the centre. There are plenty of narrow streets, shops that sell emerald and colourful balconied houses on these streets. The town looks very safe and nearly every corner the officials take care about safety.
When we visited the old town a big cruising ship has arrived with tourists. More tourist guides were sent out and they were waiting for the tourists to show them Cartagena, they offered their services for us too, but we were prepared what to see.

55. day - 03/12/2006 -

We sold a bicycle and a boom break on the flea market today, which was organised in the marina. The bicycle was bought by Manfred on a good discount, however he promised to organise the documents if a new crew joins us in January.

This part of the journey stops now and will continue at the beginning of January. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for joining us.
